Since the day baby Jackson was born he has always seemed to be a very calm and content baby, who’s also a good sleeper more so at nighttime as he merely cat naps through the day.

He 1st slept though the night from 8 weeks old even though we were away from home at the time and he was in a different cot, so I was very impressed! Since then we have overcome a few obstacles such as teething, colds & coughs all affecting his sleep but managed the best we could.

He is now almost 6 months old and up until recently we have been successfully using white noise apps on our phones, sleeping bags & gently rocking baby to sleep at night as a lot of parents do and it works.

We have a good bedtime routine established and he will sleep from 6.30pm through to 6.30/7am most days with the occasional wake in the night for a bottle or if he’s unwell so we are very lucky for the moment anyway! We have also started weaning so gradually being fuller before bedtime should help him to sleep through more and drop some of his daytime milk feeds aswell.

Soon he will be going into his own room as he is starting to outgrow his babyside crib by Jané which has been wonderful to use since birth and I am hoping it will be a smooth transition. (You can see the full product review on the  Jané Babyside Crib on the home page).

For Christmas we decided that Ollie the owl may be a good present for him to help with day naps & night time and after about a month of using one we are converts! It also means that we no longer have to leave our mobile phones in the room playing white noise and I will go so far as to say Ollie’s sounds, especially the Brahms lullaby setting, is so relaxing it helps us drift off to sleep aswell some nights so that’s been an added bonus!

We did actually use a Gro hush baby calmer in the early months with Jackson and that was also a great product that helped, but I feel that he’s outgrown that now and Ollie just seems to fit the bill better especially when it’s time to move him to his own bedroom. I like the fact that you get more than your 20mins worth of soothing white noise plus a little glow light on his tummy, and the cry sensor really does work. Ollie is a little sensitive to coughing or sneezing and may start playing but we can live with that!

Also I can actually hear and see with my own ears and eyes when Ollie is working on our video baby monitor and watch Jackson settle back off to sleep again. To summarise I would recommend this sleep aid to any new parents and for the price I think the quality and how easy it is to use speaks for itself. Ollie does use up batteries quite quickly, but we are using rechargeable ones now and they are fine. He is so fluffy and soft and can be hung or sat up anywhere you want it close to your baby.

So you may first glance at the Jané Mims footmuff and think it’s just like other infant footmuffs or cocoons out there! But you’d be wrong in thinking so as the design of the Mims 4-in-1 footmuff is very different to anything else I’ve come across. The Mims can be used from birth to toddler in a variety of ways which I’ve outlined below. One main feature that I like is the way the bottom zip opens out and allows for longer little legs to get pro-longed use out of this footmuff on a pushchair and also how simple it is to use! I can not begin to tell you how many pram accessories I have come across that are a real fiddle to put on and take off a pram, or get them to stay in place easily! This is designed to make parents lives a little easier by having easy access openings, velcro closures & a zip at the bottom which allows it to be fitted onto most things and adapts easily.  Hooray!

You can also buy a ‘Cot footmuff’ version of the Mims which doesn’t have openings for the pushchair harness so that’s the only difference really between the two.

We have been using our Jané Crosswalk pram for almost 3 months now since our baby son Jackson was born on the 14th August 2017. This pram is suitable from birth up until approx 15kg and is fab for our needs! In this post you will see in the photo gallery real, every day images of us using the pram and its versatility. Any questions you may have reading this please don’t hesitate to ask! I feel at one with this pram now!

When we were looking at buying a new pram several factors were important to us, to suit our lifestyle and a growing child. We wanted something all terrain style, with hard wearing wheels, large roomy seat that laid flat for a newborn, good size hood and basket, parent & outward facing seat unit, not too heavy, folds compact and easy to use. We already had 2 compatible car seats to use also made by Jané so it just made sense really to be able to use them not only in mine and my husband’s cars,  but also with a Jané pram that is pro fix.

The Crosswalk seemed to tick all of these boxes and after doing my pram research into this particular model we decided to go for it and bought one in the Moss colour which I adore! We have been using the pram alongside a matrix light 2 car seat which performs as an excellent carrycot also. Plus a Concord Air car seat (compatible with  Jané prams).

So we’ve been testing out the Jané 2 stage ergonomic cushion in Baby Jackson’s Babyside crib also made by Jané these past two weeks, and so far it seems to be aiding a more comfortable night’s sleep for him. On the 1st night he used it he slept until 8.30am! Now that can’t be bad. In addition to this we can use it around the house like here for example in his Baby Bjorn bouncer. It stays in place very well and he seems to like using it. Here is our happy and slightly sleepier little boy. The smile says it all!

The reason we chose this pillow is that more recently he’s developed a slight flat  head (plagiocephaly) in one area something we’d not experienced with our first born. So naturally we wanted to help erradicate this problem and help it to not develop any further as much as we could.

We were kindly gifted this bath seat to review by Jané with our 7 week old baby Jackson, and from the very 1st use it has been a success! It is always quite scary not knowing how young babies will react to something new and trying to make them feel calm, relaxed and secure isn’t always an easy task.

Now generally Jackson loves his baths and we were very excited to try something new here, that will suit his age range and see him through for the months to come as he grows. For us the 2 in 1 hammock ticks all our boxes and here’s why…

So being a new mummy again for only a few weeks has meant that baby products are at the forefront of my mind everyday. You want the best you can provide for your baby naturally, but being a second time mum means that I’m more aware of what potentially ‘IS or ISN’T’ worth buying or using.

We have kept some of our first son’s things and they are great to use again, but we’ve also purchased or been gifted some items too. This blog post will be kept ‘OPEN’ and I’m sure I will be adding more things very soon so don’t forget to check back here now and again.

Well it’s very simple I think these bottles are great! So cleverly designed to make them easy and practical for parents and babies to use whether at home or on the move. As you’ll see from the image below they come apart easily to be cleaned and sterilised in the microwave if you so wish with merely a drop of water and no other equipment required! You simply pop the bottles in on their own as per instructions tell you.
