Matrix Light 2 . . . every journey is a safe and comfy ride!
The Matrix light 2 car seat is a genius design by Jané that incorporates several uses from newborn up to 13kg. It can be used as a lay flat car seat, an upright car seat rearward facing and it’s also a great carrycot to have on any Jané pram chassis that is pro-fix.
It really appealed to us for it’s various uses and it is so well padded, comfortable and protective inside and out! We even have a Safety mattress for it which can be used overnight for sleeping if travelling away or just to make baby more comfortable when used as a pram carrycot. All the fabrics are easily removed for machine washing and the hood canopy extends far over for bright sunny days when the seat is upright. It has a zip off apron cover for added protection from the elements aswell.

Why is Oxygen desaturation so important?
Medical studies published state that keeping a newborn baby in an upright position for long periods of time lowers the amount of oxygen in it’s blood. A newborn baby’s reflex to keep it’s head held up is not fully developed, meaning the head flops down and restricts the airways. Doctors say that this is a good enough reason no to use an infant car seat fro anything other than travel.
In the UK the NHS recommendation is to have babies in upright carseat’s no longer than 30 minutes. This is why the Matrix Light 2 plays such a beneficial role to a baby’s health as it can be laid flat.

Hi!
This is a long shot but can j ask what booster seat you have in the car with the Janè matrix?
We are struggling in our focus to fit our matrix and Graco booster seat.
Are you able to just put the matrix on with out compromising on the space of the other car seat?

Thanks for your question we have a Mazda 6 car so not huge but the back seat is a reasonable width and we can just about get a Joie Trillo high back booster car seat in next to the matrix light 2 on the isofix platform. The only thing I would say is we have to put baby’s car seat in first and ‘click’ matrix on the base, then get eldest to hop in his seat as otherwise the metal clips on the end of matrix push his booster seat slightly. So for a more secure fit of both seats this is our way around it. The Joie trillo is a fab seat nice and comfy and lightweight and has isofix clips or can be seatbelt installed instead, it’s slimline which is what we wanted. Fitting two seats across any car seat back with the matrix laid down is tricky but it can be done… depends on your car and what car seats you have though.
I also think that they will only be in Lay flat mode for such a short time so when matrix is upright rearward facing the seat space will be less of an issue and it’s rotates 360 which was another big selling point for us.
